Freds Recycle phones

By logging onto a website, debtors can decrease what they owe by trading in an unwanted mobile phone which will then be re-cycled. This is the simple but radical system that was recently launched by Frederick International, a member of the Freds.com Group.

Its progress will be followed and if it proves a hit, other companies such as Envirofone, Fonebank, Mopay are likely to roll it out too. The mobile phone recycling sector leader, ShP Limited will be receiving the handsets in question, by freepost, once the on-line bartering has been completed. The agreed price will electronically be subtracted from the clients account.

The initiative, the first of its kind, will not only see a reduction in e-waste in Britain but more importantly be a positive step that many in serious debt will appreciate. With the current global recession unlikely to subside anytime soon this type of move is certainly a step in the right direction giving another option to mobile broadband phone users.

A representative of the group, Mr Jan-Michael Lacey, said that his company is leading the way in offering useful options to people who find themselves in financial difficulty, which is also great environmental recycling news
